I took my 1957 T-Bird and Wendy took her 2007 Roush Stage 3 Mustang to pick the Beach Boys up at the Vermont airport and drive them to the concert in Rutland, VT.  We pulled right into the airport and watched the Beach Boys come off the plane.   The promoter told each of them to pick a car to ride in.   (There were about 10 guys that came off the plane).   One of the original Beach Boys, Bruce Johnston, wanted to drive with Bob in his T-Bird and Wendy had John Cowsill (son of “The Cowsill’s) in her car.   We got a police escort from the airport right to the stage.   They even dedicated their song "Wendy" to Wendy while we sat in one of the front rows in the audience.  Bruce Johnston and Mike Love, two of the originals, both signed the glove compartment of my car.   When the show was over, we were all waiting for them back stage.   They all got back into the cars, and we had the police escort again back to the airport and then off they went to the next concert in Boston. What an experience it was!   Bob Roy

Dear NECC Member

We're extremely pleased to announce a number of modernizing changes to our club, among which is our new on-line forum.  Our club is moving into the 21st Century, and we  believe it's important to take advantage of the opportunities that technology affords us.  One modern phenomenon that has interested us for some time, is the on-line forum, where people with common interests share advise, opinions, tips, stories, etc... and we've decided to try one.  As of this moment, we have our very own on-line forum

This will be a far more timely way for us to share event information, car advise, helpful hints, tech tips and more.  Please invite friends, family and strangers to join the forum. If they've got an interest in cars, we'd like to have them with us.  There's no charge of any kind for registering or talking on our forum, so it's the best deal in town!

Another change we're announcing is that we're moving to a totally free membership (yes, you read correctly).  We've got a healthy balance in our checking account, so we won't be bugging anyone to send in dues for their 2007 membership.  In the future, we may move to a volunteer payment basis, but there's no need for that at the moment.

Keep your eyes on this home page and of course on the forum for news about events, meetings, and everything NECC.

respectfully,

Tom Beggan - on behalf of the NECC Board of Directors
